Dr. Linder is pleased and humbled to once again receive a 2010 Award from the USCA (United States Commerce Association) for 2010.  “For the second consecutive year, I am pleased to announce that Plastic Surgeon, Stuart Linder, M.D., has been selected for the 2010 Best of Beverly Hills Award in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon category by the United States Commerce Association (USCA).”

According to the USCA, nationwide, only 1.4% or one in 70 of the previous 2009 Award recipients qualify to win the 2010 Award.  The USCA Award recognizes local businesses throughout the country that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their Local Community and Business category.  These are companies that enhance positive image of small businesses through services to their customers and the community.  They also submitted a Press Release which is posted on the USCA website.

Once again, I am thrilled to have received this distinguished Award for the second year in a row from the United States Commerce Association.

High Profile Breast Implants Beverly Hills

The below example shows a patient who has undergone breast augmentation with high profile silicone gel implants from Allergen Pharmaceuticals.  Notice how the high profiles or tapered implants, reducing the lateral flattening and matronly appearance of the breast which allows on her postoperative photo to keep and maintain a sleek physique.

This is a World Class body builder who desires to obviously look as thin as possible in the upper third of her body; however, desires upper pole fullness.  Implants were placed in the subpectoral dual plane technique using the periareolar approach with high profile cohesive silicone gel implants.  The high profile implants have more AP projection, less lateral width and therefore allow for a more full appearance with less lateral fullness.

american inside article page

A fascinating article was written by Ethan Rouen, entitled “Vacationing for a New You” in the February 15, 2010 issue of “American Way,” an American Airlines magazine.  This interesting article indicates, Travelers to Beverly Hills for Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery.  Both Dr. Linder and Dr. Robert Kotler, facial plastic surgeon, are the focus of this article which indicates that patients fly worldwide to have specialists operate on their faces and bodies.  In fact, Beverly Hills has been considered by many to be one of the meccas in the world for cosmetic surgery.  The magazine specifically details Dr. Linder’s website as well as the international link indicating that patients have flown in from over 40 states and 23 countries to have plastic surgery with Dr. Stuart A. Linder.  Dr. Robert Kotler has similar statistics and has patients who have had rhinoplasty surgery with him from all over the world.  This is an honor to be mentioned and have an article written about our practices in Beverly Hills with the American Airlines magazine, American Way.

Beverly Hills Liposuction & Liposculpture

The below case is an excellent example how the age of a patient, although important, is not the only determinate in an excellent result from liposculpture.  Most importantly is skin integrity, tone of the skin and the ability for the skin to retract after the procedure.

liposuction linder patient before and after

This patient is a 60-year-old healthy female who desired to have liposuction of her midriff area, abdominal area, hips, flanks, as well as her inner and outer thighs.  She is an excellent candidate.  She underwent tumescent liposuction procedure under general anesthesia with approximately 2.2 liters of aspirate fat removed with a 3 mm triple lumen Mercedes cannula.  She has worn an abdominal binder and girdle for six weeks for compression therapy and now has an excellent result.  Please note her testimonial below.  Also, review her before and after photographs showing good skin retraction after surgery, even at the age of 60.

Dear Dr. Linder,

You Made a difference.

I sincerely would like to thank you for taking care of my liposuction needs. I am on top of the world with happiness and a renewed self-confidence.

On February 3, 2010, Dr. Linder was interviewed by ABC News per Robert Holguin regarding surgical implants, the possible next terrorist threat.  Articles from British newspapers have shown the possibility of terrorists planning attacks from Britain with bombs inside their bodies to foil new airport scanners.

An operation by M15 has uncovered evidence that there may be a new terrorist attack by placement of surgical bombs inside women’s bodies.  Explosives such as PETN could be placed in a plastic sack or implant and placed in the body and closed in the usual fashion.  This could be ignited by a hypodermic syringe, according to Britain reports, by injecting TATP through the skin into the explosive sacks.  Reports have shown that tests on real planes have shown that even a small amount of explosive material could create a small tear in a fuselage, leading to catastrophic failure.  If an implant was loaded with explosives, it could be detonated with a hypodermic syringe by injection of another chemical through the skin into the sack.  According to Australian security experts, the best way to detect these new kinds of implanted explosives is with a very old fashioned, but highly effective detection method, the nose of a highly trained bomb-sniffing dog.

Patients arrive to my Beverly Hills office consultation for combination procedures every week.  Combination procedures, including augmentation, breast lifts, tummy tucks, and lipo-contouring of the body can be performed simultaneously as long as the patient is healthy and the operating room time is kept within, in my opinion, five hours of surgery under general anesthesia.

The next example is a patient who underwent augmentation mammoplasty and lipo-contouring of her inner and outer thighs and hips.  The patient presented with having had three children, loss of upper pole fullness of her breasts and desired to have her breasts filled in again.  Saline implants were then placed in the dual plane technique, under the muscle through a periareolar approach with high profile saline implants.  We were able to regain her beautiful fullness, keep her narrow on the side and give her excellent cleavage.  She had a gynoid appearance, the lower third of her body disproportionately larger than the upper and middle third upper body.  Her liposuctioning was accomplished using a Klein needle infiltrator to infiltrate tumescent fluid per the tumescent technique and approximately 1 liter of fat was removed of pure aspirate.  A small 3 mm triple lumen Mercedes tip cannula under direct one atmospheric vacuum suction pressure under general anesthesia.  The localized deep fat deposits were removed from the anteromedial and the posterolateral thighs as well as the infragluteal folds.  You can see a nice reshaping of the lower third of her body more to match the upper middle third.  However, her natural curve was maintained.  Suctioning was only performed in the localized deep fat deposit areas for two reasons:  1) to prevent contour deformity and surface irregularity of the skin; and 2) to allow her to maintain her natural contour shape.  Postoperatively, her gynoid appearance is significantly reduced with more proportionality of the upper mid and lower third of her body.
